Brigham Young University provides an outstanding education in an atmosphere consistent with the ideals and principles of its sponsor, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Provo University’s total undergraduate enrollment of 27,163. The student-faculty ratio at Brigham Young University–Provo is 18:1, and the school has 57.1 percent of its classes with fewer than 20 students.
Utah Valley University (UVU) offers a wide array of academic programs — ranging from business to philosophy to the hard sciences — through its seven colleges and schools. Enrollment for UVU’s 2015 Fall semester has crested the 33,000 mark, making UVU the largest public institution of higher education in state.
The University of Utah is a public flagship four-year research university accredited through the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities since 1933. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 24,635, and the campus size is 1,535 acres. Known as the U of U or simply The U, this Salt Lake City center of academics, powerhouse sports and research offers more than 100 undergraduate majors and more than 92 graduate degree programs. Graduate studies include the S.J. Quinney College of Law and the School of Medicine, Utah’s first medical school.
Salt Lake Community College is Utah’s largest college with the most diverse student body. It serves more than 60,000 students on 10 campuses and with online classes. With a faculty-to-student ratio of 1:20, this is a place where high school graduates can take their first step into higher education and later transfer to a 4-year school. It focuses on providing associate degrees that students can transfer to any other four-year university in the state to satisfy their first two years of requirements for a bachelor’s degree. SLCC has open enrollment and serves the local community, with approximately 95% of the student body considered Utah residents.
Alpine School District is the primary school district in northern Utah County in Utah, including the cities of Lindon, Orem, Pleasant Grove, American Fork, Alpine, Highland, Lehi, Saratoga Springs, Cedar Hills, Vineyard and Eagle Mountain.
